The General Doctoral Regulations are intended to establish uniform high quality standards for all doctorates at FAU.
The new general regulations provide an optimised, transparent procedure, uniform terminology and the equal treatment of all doctoral candidates. This is of particular importance for candidates in interdisciplinary doctoral programmes and research groups, where different regulations were applicable. Peculiarities of the individual fields are incorporated in the Faculty Doctoral Regulations.
A further consequence of the new regulations is the mandatory registration of the doctoral thesis and the admission to doctorate at the beginning of the project. This ensures more legal certainty for doctoral candidates – they are thereby members of the University according to the University Constitution of FAU.
The doctoral data management docDaten facilitates the necessary administrative processes for doctoral candidates, supervisors and faculties. International candidates are safely guided by the bilingual system through all administrative necessities during the doctoral process.
